Committing to Safety

WHAT IF...

  • Participants who fail to comply with the safety policies or procedures regarding the safety of individuals and/or the group (this includes but is not limited to the program, School, State, Federal, airline, hotel, restaurants, transportation, events, ie.), are engaging in unprofessional and unsafe conduct that will result in disciplinary action for the participant.

  • Such disciplinary action may include, but is not limited to, temporary or permanent removal from participation in an event or program and may result in suspension from the Program or expulsion, which shall be determined by the Group Leader (ie. teacher) based on the severity of the offense. Any costs incurred by the individual traveler engaging in unsafe conduct, will remain the responsibility of the individual traveler and in no way becomes the responsibility of Thornapple Travel. Any disciplinary action taken against an individual traveler engaging in unsafe conduct is seen as a breach of the contract with Thornapple Travel and may result in expulsion from the trip without refund. An expelled individual has ended any and all commitment by Thornapple Travel to further work on their behalf. 

 

Air Travel

Air travel requires spending time in security lines and airport terminals, which can bring you in close contact with other people and frequently touched surfaces. Most viruses and other germs do not spread easily on flights because of how air circulates and is filtered in airplanes. However, social distancing is difficult on crowded flights, and you may have to sit near others (within 6 feet), sometimes for hours. This may increase your risk for exposure to the virus that causes COVID-19. According to CDC disease protocols, if a sick traveler is considered a risk to the public’s health, CDC works with local and state health departments and international public health agencies to contact exposed passengers and crew.
